2012 NCAA Football Instant Replay Casebook (June 2012)
Purpose
Instant replay is a process whereby video review is used to confirm, reverse or let stand certain on-field decisions (Rule 12-3) made by game officials.

Philosophy
The instant replay process operates under the fundamental assumption that the ruling on the field is correct. The replay official may reverse a ruling if and only if the video evidence convinces him beyond all doubt that the ruling was incorrect. Without such indisputable video evidence, the replay official must allow the ruling to stand.

Since this manual was first published in the fall of 1994, the NCAA has conducted equity seminars and intends to continue sponsoring such seminars on an annual basis. In addition, the NCAA inclusion staff has made extensive gender equity and Title IX resources available online. The manual, the seminars, the Title IX Resource Center and the NCAA Inclusion Web site are four services intended to provide a greater understanding and a clearer perspective on the need to ensure equitable opportunities and treatment for female student-athletes at all NCAA member institutions.

Research — NCAA Gender Equity Report 2004-2010
The NCAA Gender-Equity Report provides summary information concerning personnel, revenues, expenses and other comparative variables of men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics programs at NCAA member institutions for the fiscal years 2004 through 2010. It is the result of an annual NCAA membership data collection conducted during the fall of each of those years. Although similar studies have been conducted for the NCAA since 1991, significant changes in data collection and reporting render those reports non-comparable to those of 2004 and beyond.

Research — Substance Use - National Study of Substance Use Trends Among NCAA College Student-Athletes
This report provides summary information concerning substance use behaviors of men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics programs at NCAA member institutions for the years 2005 and 2009. The data for this report are collected in a quadrennial NCAA student-athlete survey conducted within each of those academic years. The name of that quadrennial study is the NCAA National Study of Substance Use Habits of College Student-Athletes.
